Letztes Auswärtsspiel der Saison

(sorry, tumblrs, for re-posting it)

the technically perfect reason why to always shoot in raw format. in this photo maybe I or the camera did something horribly wrong with measuring the exposure time, ending up in an highly overexposed photo. but with raw, I could rescue all the lost pixels. in jpeg, all of them would have be gone. Forever.

bad ass video cutting

shooting overview of another wedding this summer. this time i shot about 2andahalf thousand photos with a rent 5D MkII. (compare this sheet to last wedding)

this time I preferred the 70-200 L lens to my 50mm lens for portraits. i also took advantage of the huge ISO range. I made some shots at ISO 25600 when there was firework outdoor to get beautiful picture in available light. but the noise is tooo much. at ISO 6400 it’s noise can be compared to other camera’s ISO 1600 and thats perfect for non-flash dancing photos with small blurry effect.

so the 5D MkII would be my next choice in wedding photography because it’s versality (and think of HD video with crystal sharp lenses and make the couple more happy!)

statistical view on the wedding photos. i shot through the whole range of ISO speed because we were inside and outside and I prefer available light to flash (and reduce noise afterwards). I used the big camera mostly, the EF 16-35 and EF70-200. I should have used the EF70-200 more for detailed portraits.

these folders contain over 77 GB of photos from a big shooting from a wedding. over 3000 photos from two cameras. next step: order by capture time, batch rename and apply metadata settings (my name, copyright notice, keywords)

back from a beautiful summer wedding in the deep black forest. it was really beautiful. will post some details in the next weeks (shot over 3500 photos wich have to be sorted, searched and corrected now…)
